New Curriculum Project for the Amazigh Language in Primary Education

New Curriculum Project for the Amazigh Language in Primary Education

A new draft curriculum of the Amazigh language for the primary education cycle has been developed by the Ministry of National Education.

The project implemented in collaboration with the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture (Ircam), will be submitted for advice to inspectors and teachers of the Amazigh language, with a view to beginning the development of new textbooks of this language for the next school year 2021-2022, said the ministry in a statement.

It can be consulted on the official website of the Ministry of National Education.

This approach comes within the framework of the implementation of the organic law 26.16 defining the process of implementation of the official character of Amazigh, as well as the modalities of its integration in education and the priority areas of public life.

It was agreed, during this meeting, to update the curriculum of the Amazigh language according to a progressive approach from the beginning of the school year 2021-2022 for the first years of the primary cycle, as a fundamental axis for the implementation of the roadmap for the integration of this language in education.
